Back in the fold and yet another Wheels question

Good morning all
I'm back in Porsche ownership again - I have just acquired a 1989 944 turbo [:D] which I pick up on Monday and have a very quick question (probably the first of many !)
She currently has a set of 18 inch techart alloys, which I dont particularly like and want to get rid of. I have spotted a set of 17 inch wheels which I believe may be from a 996 Carrera 2 (looking at this site - http://www.944racing.de/wheelweights.php )

a pic of the wheel in question is attached

The wheels are 7 x 17 et 55 and 8.5 x 17 et 50. Question is will they fit or will they need spacers ?

They will fit, just won't look very nice [;)]

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder [:D]

But for me the only 17 inch wheel that looks right on a 44 is a Cup 1

To me it's either Cup 1 's or standard wheels

I'd go with that, love Cup 1's! Your car looks fantastic Colin [8D]

Believe me they look better than the current ones [:D]

Thanks the replies everyone.

( Oh by the way, anyone interested in a set of 18 inch Techart alloys [;)] )

Post up a Pic of the Techart wheels please, I currently run splitrim 18s and I'm perfectly happy with the looks & handling before anybody starts!

Absolutely bang-on!

Theyre the same monstrosities which I have on my own car. Theyre off a Boxster I believe. The 911 had a 9" rear.

I won't have the car until Monday but from memory they look like this

Quite right - it has to Cup 1's or the original forged jobs. Those Cups look great Colin, so it's just that spoiler and the exhaust that you need to sort out now!

Thanks for the Pic, I can see why you wish to change! Not to my taste either.....
