Back seats getting wet

I have found out today that my rear seats are getting wet when it rains.[]
I have previously replaced the sunroof seal and the tailgate seals with no problems and I check the sunroof drains as and when with no problems.
Any ideas would be appreciated.[;)]

yeah my rear hatch leaks when i jet wash her.... i just consider it a feature! however i have ordered a new boot seal :)

Might well be worth checking underneath the spoiler parts that sit at each side of the hatch. You will need to make a tool like a screwdriver with a notch in the middle of the (flat) blade to get the nuts off from inside the hatch, but after that it just pops off. Soak them with PlusGas (not WD40) in advance so they will undo easily.

The aluminium frame can corrode and lever itself away from the glass (and the sealant) and cause leaks which can allow water to dribble into the footwells.

Ultimately the only sure way of finding the leak is to spend time with a hosepipe....it could take quite a few minutes for the leak to manifest itself though - patience is required.

Hello to all,

i had this problem with my 1983 944, i changed the tailgate seals, door seals, and both sunroof seals without success! i had also cleared out the sunroof drain channels again without success.
After many hours of frustration, i found small cracks around each of the drain holes for the roof, where the two panels are welded together which let in water to flow along the roof frame to wherever it wanted.
I sealed these up, and so far it has stayed dry, even in some very heavy rain!
I hope this is of some help
