As announced at last night's meeting, at the invite of their MD, Mark Hosken, Backdraft Motorsport are kindly hosting an open day for us and members of the BoXa.net forum at their premises in Bletchley on Saturday 19th November.

Attractions:
  • three Gallardo GT3 race cars in winter build (Glenn McMenamin, who visited us at OPC Silverstone earlier this year, has driven for them in 2011)
  • the Boxster Spyder development car (bucket seats, harness bar, PDK with paddles)
  • the BDM 450 BHP KTM X-Bow
  • food! pork rolls!
Incentive: free laser alignment check on their Hunter rig for the first five applicants (adjustment - you have to pay for!)

Date: Saturday 19th November
Time: 10:00 - 15:00
Where: 10 Avant Business Centre, Third Avenue, Denbigh, Milton Keynes, MK1 1DR
Map link: http://g.co/maps/zdsgq (one of those units)

Backdraft want to know numbers, so if you intend coming next Saturday, please respond to this thread - and if you want your geometry checked its first (5) come-first served, so state that too.

Just down the road from me so I will come.
Not sure if my 28 year old 924 warrants an alignment check but would be interesting to see what time has done to it!

Thanks to everyone who attended today - I was really impressed by the turnout.

Who knows - if we'd have gone on the day BDM were expecting us, there could have been even more... [:)]

Thanks to Chris for arranging our visit and big thanks to Backdraft motor Sport for looking after us so well, the bacon butties were well recieved. Your photos are a good reminder of what we saw there and I am amazed that the geometry on my Early 911 is still somewhere near what it should be. Thanks once again.

...And many thanks to Chris from me too![:)]

Great to see you all there and, yes, the Backdraft hospitality was brilliant![:D]

Not only amazed at your geometry on your 911S, but how clean your marvellous car is underneath, Robin!
Thanks for your support as always.

Someone asked me about insurance: I am with Manning which includes unlimited track day cover providing the organiser is a member of the ATDO.

Can I add my thanks too Chris for organising a very interesting day and to Mark and his lads for giving up so much of their Staurday to host us. Much appreciated.

Thanks also for the insurance info - I'll keep it in mind for the next renewal.

Jeff
