Evening all, stripped the cambox off the black turbo this afternoon, back 2 bolts were their usual rounded head knightmares! Checked the cam and there were 2 chips out of it but this has obviously been there from the factory as the Stellite coating is still their!

I also took the oil seals off to change the seals and sealing washers and found the top hats to be very worn, this seams to have been causing the leak rather than failed seals. Time for some new ones of these.

The front of the engine is coated in oil and crap so next stage will be to degrease it all and get it back together again. The timing belt tensioner assembly spring is also missing so god knows how the last guy did the belt tension!

Car is the first 944 I have seen with cruise control, thats what the box of tricks is beside the O/S top strut mount!

The spring is just there as an aid, it gets you in the right ball park but you use a sprocket removal tool to get the tension right.

Edit: Cruise control sounds nice :D. Is it aftermarket?
