Balance weight adhesive removal

I've just had two new rear tyres fitted, and although the fitter removed most of the old adhesive their is still a small amount left on the rim.

Any suggestions on what will remove the old adhesive without scrathing the paint.

Petrol, cellulose thinners, engine cleaner or isopropyl alcohol will do the trick. [:)]
If all else fails try the wife's nail vanish remover! [;)]

When I was at a club day at Reading OPC a while ago, the wheel chap there used an eraser wheel (also known as a toffee wheel, because of the smell) in an electric drill. I got one on eBay, and it works a treat.
 
The professional detailers use Autosmart Tardis which is also brilliant for removing tar from wheels and body panels, here's one place you can get it:
