I feel that I should replace the ball joints on my car ,but I want to know if anyone has any experience of doing this and has anyone used a Rennbay Kit or is there something similar available over here? All input would be gratefully received ( as long as its sensible ) []

Ball Joints on late arms

I used the Pelican Parts "heavy duty" kit - the one with the poly-bronze cup style top socket vs the plastic part like the Porsche original. No problems fitting and seemed to be quality parts. As per TTM - you must ensure you mix the sealant properly (equal parts and well mixed) or you will get "soft spots" that don't want to harden up.
I've recently replaced the ball joints on mine with the Rennbay kit (with the bronze upper cup) - a bit fiddly removing the circlip to dismantle the old ball joints, but otherwise quite straight forward (although access to a good engineering vice is a must). Funny enough I had the same problem with inconsistent mixing of the epoxy - the instructions in the kit say to mix the two parts on the bottom of the ball joint, next time I'm mixing them on a bit of card and then applying mixed to the bottom of the joint. Impressed with the quality of the Rennbay kit (and you get an ubercool Rennbay sticker [])

P.S I think the Pelican Parts and Rennbay kits are the same. There does not appear to be a UK distributor so no way to avoid the P&P from the US.
