Evening Ladies & Gents
I know many of you often spend the Bank Holidays with family, and others just like some downtime away from work with a glass of something naughty but nice.
This coming Bank Holiday weekend, well ok the next one technically (6th-8th) as there is still May Day before that, we are planning a gathering heading towards the Alston area and back across. The route has been suggested by the ever young at heart Mr Jack Hoskin (90 years old this Sunday the 23rd, so please wish him a Happy Birthday when you next see him).
Jack has proposed some of his favourite roads and hopes some of your lovely R3 bunch will join us.
Full route to be confirmed and issued on the day, but the important bits would be:-
[ul][*]Meet at the Starbucks at Hexham services at around 9.30am to depart at 10am[*]Leaving via the racecourse, up through the hairpins towards Whitfield[*]Over Coanwood and on towards Alston[*]Jack suggests then Nenthead, Allenheads, Lintzgarth, Blanchland before finishing in Whittonstall mainly at the Anchor for some lunch[/ul]Now lunch isn't compulsory but Jack has been in touch and they are more than happy for us to roll up. All they ask is we have a good idea of numbers in advance (I would like to give them a firm number on Tuesday 2nd May). Being the fantastic little eatery The Anchor is, they don't want deposits or orders in advance all they ask is if we say lunch for 10 people, 10 people will be having lunch.
Anyone wishing to join us that day is very welcome and there is no need to register for the drive itself, however I must ask those wishing to eat please pop your name on this thread or let me know before Tuesday 2nd May.
Thanks everyone and hope to see you all there
Dave
