Bank Holiday Run Out - Sunday 7th May

I know many of you often spend the Bank Holidays with family, and others just like some downtime away from work with a glass of something naughty but nice.

This coming Bank Holiday weekend, well ok the next one technically (6th-8th) as there is still May Day before that, we are planning a gathering heading towards the Alston area and back across. The route has been suggested by the ever young at heart Mr Jack Hoskin (90 years old this Sunday the 23rd, so please wish him a Happy Birthday when you next see him).

Jack has proposed some of his favourite roads and hopes some of your lovely R3 bunch will join us.

Full route to be confirmed and issued on the day, but the important bits would be:-

[ul][*]Meet at the Starbucks at Hexham services at around 9.30am to depart at 10am[*]Leaving via the racecourse, up through the hairpins towards Whitfield[*]Over Coanwood and on towards Alston[*]Jack suggests then Nenthead, Allenheads, Lintzgarth, Blanchland before finishing in Whittonstall mainly at the Anchor for some lunch[/ul]Now lunch isn't compulsory but Jack has been in touch and they are more than happy for us to roll up. All they ask is we have a good idea of numbers in advance (I would like to give them a firm number on Tuesday 2nd May). Being the fantastic little eatery The Anchor is, they don't want deposits or orders in advance all they ask is if we say lunch for 10 people, 10 people will be having lunch.

Anyone wishing to join us that day is very welcome and there is no need to register for the drive itself, however I must ask those wishing to eat please pop your name on this thread or let me know before Tuesday 2nd May.

Thanks everyone and hope to see you all there

Dave

Hi Dave,

Yes, we are up for that along with lunch for two.

Gary and Michelle (or could be Emma)

Hi Dave

Sounds a great drive but unfortunately we already have tickets for the Sports Cars In The Park event at Newby Hall that day, otherwise would have joined you.

Drive safe

John

Thanks to everyone that's replied so far. Understand that some are going to Sportscars In The Park. The only reason this will be the same weekend is Jack is off to France for his annual pilgrimage the following week so we just wanted to have a mini Birthday Party for him before his extended holiday break.

Apologies to whoever text me as well about the run as I think I may have accidently deleted the text. The estimated mileage for that day is only approx 65 miles and we do expect the roads maybe a little busier due to the bank holiday traffic. Long distance weather forecast doesn't seem too bad for the time of year.

Thanks everyone

Dave

Hi Dave

Please count me in, would like to Join if there is still space. not too worried about the food but will come along for the company and drive out, as I'm a little late throwing my name into the ring :).
