How on earth did I miss that?

Now I'm off to kick myself and spend the rest of the month staring at ebay on the off chance something similarly as fun will appear.

It was, a 4 owner car with a stamped book all the way up to 100,000 miles. Independant after that. Car is not bad mechanically, needs a few things but have them all here anyway. Needs a repair to one of the wings (surprise surprise!) and a general tidy up. Only has the comfort interior but has a nice LSD box instead! Have a nice set of forged clubsports coutesy of Lemon that will fit nicely onto it. Also has a very nice bridge spoiler too!!!
Picking it up Monday so will get some pictures of it then just to annoy you all!!!

Well done Al.
Look forward to hearing about its progress.
When you take the sill trims off (very carefully!) you can sell them to me. [;)]

£750. And the spoiler is worth at least half that. The world's gone mad!

Great to see it's gone to a good home, and congrats on living near enough to make it worthwhile!

How can anyone disagree that it wasnt worth the asking price twice over for parts? 944s seem to attract some people with a lot of enthusiasm but little real grasp of the facts...

They are D90s, I have a set of D90s in the garage that are part way through a refurb, came off a 1990 S2, a bit rough at the moment but need a blast and paint.
David, I have not forgotten about the trim parts, all the ones I have found so far have been pretty much past it!
The car has a bridge spoiler and an LSD, LSD turbo boxes are worth 6 to 700 quid minimum, I don't know what some poeople think these cars are worth but they don't come much cheaper. The car is worth more in parts but it would be very wrong to strip it rather than return it to the road! Looking forward to getting it next week anyway, need to get my S2 back together again before touching it though, it currently has no water pump on the front and a set of ARB bushes and pair of castor mounts waiting to be fitted!
Alasdair

Theyll fit straight on Mark. The Design 90s on a '91 Turbo will be 7.5" & 9" (as opposed to an S2s 7" & 8"), hence their interest to an S2 owner.

Well gents, picked the car up tonight and what a bargain it is. Drivers side sill has a bit of bubbling of the underseal on it but nothing major, solid underneath. Both front wings are a bit crusty round the edge of the wheel arch but nothing too bad. Passenger side sill is fine. A bit of bubbling round the back where the number plate lights are. There is some rusting along the top of the windscreen but mostly flaky paint. All the shutlines are good and panel gaps all even. Got a nice stamped book with it and also a nice wodge of invoices. It also just had 2 nice Toyo T1Rs put on the bak 3 weeks ago, still have the bobbles on them! Also just had a nice new Dansk back box, clutch master cylinder and brake pipes put on it within the last months. Wheels really need a refurb but are nice rare 7.5 and 9 inch D90s. Car drives fine apart from the gear linkage being very stiff and the brakes were a bit crunchy with the car sitting outside for a week. Soon cleaned up though. I may even just chuck it in for an MOT and see what it needs!

PS the clock and clock bulb even works as well!!!
PPS The seller said it was a comfort interior but it has nice sport seats in it, it also has nice big M030 brakes on the front as well, both were pleasant surprises![FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Going to tidy it up a bit and maybe do the bodywork and then put it up for sale. Have a black leather 220 Turbo coming in for the chop soon,
Alasdair

Car is pretty solid, needs a right good good clean inside and out. Wheels really need a refurb as pretty grotty. One of the tensioners is squeaking a bit so will do the pump, belts and rollers in the one hit! New disks all round and it should be good to go for an MOT. Engine bay is very good but very dusty, nothing a good steam clean will not cure. It also has the ubiquitous oil leak from the cork gasket at the back of the cam box! The 10 speaker system seems to all work anyway too, all electrics work including the sunroof (has the bag too!) but both fog lamp lenses have lumps out of them. Engine nice and quiet too.

Tony, I am already looking out my slip ons, white open neck shirt and large medallion before driving! The Barry and Sharon windscreen sticker is on order.
