Bargain Slant Nose 2000 Miles!

Being serious for once .... plate only say £1000 imho but here is a NEW 930 Slant Nose, ok destined for a garage life to preserve your cash but even if you decided to use it compare the £80K asking price to what Porsche offer you new today .... rumours our esteemed Register Director is on the scent[;)]

You can probably add a zero to your valuation of that plate Des.

What's the point of that car?
It's a poor investment.
You can't use it.
Not that many people like the slantnose.

Fair enough, makes the car cheaper then ..... other trader asking £150K for a low miler 930 Turbo SE no brainer .... particularly with other air cooled Rare cars selling for big money and not forgetting the Hong Kong market being a Right Hooker .... someone rescue it!

If you want a good investment cars are pretty poor performers.
If you want to drive a car then buy something else.

Good luck to whomever buys it and has to store it in a Carcoon in a garage for the next 10 years, turning it over a couple of times a year, hoping every year that goes past that he might have made a good financial decision.
How truly depressing is that?

Either way I'd be inclined to put my money in Pork that had some racing heritage. That car is just a pretty luxobarge!
But you're right Des it does look much better value than that LE.

Just my perspective but I can't imagine why anyone would spend £80K at their OPC on a new 997 when they could have a car like this for same money.
Beautiful!

I reckon the money is better spent (depending which way you were inclined) on a 996RS or a 964RS that you could actually use and enjoy.

True Rodney a 964RS, but would be difficult to find one now with that mileage and RHD and that original condition looking at £120K + like for like maybe more .... my point really is you could treat it as a new car at £80k maybe get it for £75k? Seems senseibly priced in these days of rare air-cooled rare builds and RHD to Hong Kong beckons ....

996RS good buy but not that old yet ..... hmmm

I agree Des a smiliar miles 64RS would cost a lot more, and that the 996 RS is not old enough yet. For less money than the SE is asking though at least I'd be able to enjoy myself, instead of just turning on the lights in the garage once a month and smile at the lump of cash/metal sitting in the garage, then flick the lights off again.

The question is, who has the cajones to drive that SE with zero miles?? DO you? [8D]

Cajones ..... indeed, spare dosh on standby, the old property market ticking away ... interest rates on hold again[:D] .... hmmmm Other business venture needing more dosh now with World Patents[:(], school fees .... wedged up chap as yourself should be a no brainer ..... just keep the RS for now ..... but if it was a really spare £80K would strongly consider it ..... However anyoelooking for a new porker to drive and enjoy think it's an option.

I quite agree - You could buy two really good cars with that sort (80K) budge)

How about the first and last of the air-cooled.

1) You could get get a restored 356 RHD for around 40K

2) And a similar amount would get you into the last of the air cooled at 993 S model

Both these models are currently holding ground on the depreciation front.
