Battery/Alarm Problem

Help and advise desparately sought! After a few days of the 993 ('95 C2) not being driven my battery would be flat. Changed to a Bosch Silver Top on the advise of a specialist. A few weeks later and after a couple of days of sitting in the drive way, the new battery is flat. Took the car to the specialist to search for sources of battery drain. None were found. I have also had the alarm (standard factory installed) go off for no reason, usually in the middle of the night. Could this be a symtom or a cause of the battery problem. Any ideas on what to do next?
 
Do the internal lights go off when you lock up? I had what seemed to be a sticking door light switch that would play tricks with the alarm setting - I rang the company that installed the P1000 alarms and they talked me through a fault diagnostic and it showed up as this. I was going to replace the switch having been advised it may be corroded, but a bit of working in and out seems to have freed it off and I haven't had a problem since.
 
Interesting theory re the door switch as mine does not always seem to work especially inconjunction with warning buzzer for lights. I have still not got to the bottom of why my 4S will 'wake up' on her own some minutes or hours after being switched off. Can come back to her after half an hour and all is fine - come back half an hour later and radio is playing and I think interior lights come on! After three auto electricians have looked at her I gave up and fitted a battery isolator which saves battery but is a pain as radio requires code etc. Have heard of an intelligent isolator which only kicks in when there is too much draw or battery getting low on juice. I must get to bottom of problem or try one of these. Fault seems intermittent and does not seem to be linked to radio as this was removed and it still did it. Would be interested in knowing who spoke to at Alarm people as when I called got "nothing to do with us guv". If there are some diagnostics would love to carry them out.
 
I spoke to a very helpful technician at Hamilton and Palmer (see Suppliers section). I had noticed that on occasion when remote unlocking the car the indicators would flash multiple times (indicating the alarm had sounded at some point). Also, a couple of times the courtesy lights wouldn't go out and the alarm would not set properly (and would actually sound the alarm). The diagnostic test for a PA1000 that shows what has caused the alarm to be triggered is as follows:

Unlock the car, turn the ignition on, press the remote fob lock button once then immediately the fob unlock button three times. The system internal sounder beeps each time you press the buttons. The system then sets off a series of flashes on the red alarm LED to identify what triggered the alarm:
2 flashes - doors
3 flashes - bonnet
4 flashes - boot
5 flashes - ultrasonic sensors
6 flashes - ignition

The flash sequence repeats 3 times with a bleep in between.
