Battery Conditioner

Any recommendations on a good battery conditioner? My car is used less during the winter and I think the battery would benefit from a trickle charge especially as tracking equipment etc are a constant drain on the battery. And which of the 12V sockets are used to connect the conditioner given that the cigar lighter has a different spec to the others?

I use the Porsche supplied conditioner, which works well. It can be used in any of the sockets because of the low current flow.

At what point does it become worthwhile to use a battery conditioner?

At the moment I am only using my car on the weekend but haven't even thought about this.

I'm certainly not an expert, but the battery life should be significantly extended if it is looked after. With more modern cars I am sure the battery is having to run the alarm, computer, clock etc which will be running it down. I am fortunate that mine is tucked up during the week in a garage, near to a power socket, so it is easy to plug the battery to a conditioner. For the sake of £50 it is nice to know that the car will always start. The one I have monitors the battery and if it drops to 95% of max power it charges it, otherwise it leaves it alone. Apparently it can be connected for months at a time.
