Battery cut off switch

Anyone used one on a 964 or recommend something better
 
Depends what you are you trying at achieve. If you want cut the power when working on the car, I'd suggest a spanner [:D] If you want a security device, the something that allows bypass for alarms, radios etc. but blows if too much current is pulled.

Of course its basically the same thing, with a fuse around the side......

Thanks. Over the winter i disconnect the battery for 2/3 weeks between runs out rather
than use a trickle charger ( had one malfunction once ). increased security would be nice too.
 
In which case the first one will be fine for that, and the second one (with fuse) will still drain the battery. :-(.

I guess if you do it a lot then it makes sense, I'd still keep a spanner instead. Of course from a security perspective, it only works for someone who is trying to hotwire the car, plus, if they get in the front and have a screwdriver, its an easy fix, assuming they spot it.
 
I used to have the same item as your were originally looking at but found the carpet would not lay back down properly due to the size of it. I became fed up with it after a while and went the trickle charge route. The only time I've had those fail is if the clips touched before I'd switched it off at the wall so I now have one with plastic encased clips. One day I'll sort out an internal lead with connectors for quick plug and unplug.

Of course I now realise that moving the carpet everytime to get to the battery is more of a hassle I guess. A quick plug solutiion sounds like a good idea.

It takes approx 5 seconds to lift the carpet up to get to the earth strap.....anyone that thinks that's a hassle needs to get out more! [:D]

Winter....never a good time for circuit junkies, we end up talking rubbish.
 
The level of hassle is directly proportional to the angle of lean and length of stretch required by the human body to reach across the number of items blocking access to the far side of the luggage bay.

AoL and LoS can be approximated by taking into account such factors as number of kids bikes, number of and size of bins along with their alignment, number of tool boxes plus loose tools thereon, alignment of Henry hoover, golf clubs, and number of beer crates in the way.

Therefore, it is possible to see that both AoL and LoS are constantly changing, however, the level of PitA is always constant.

Actually, the beer is not normally a hassle as it's not usually there long enough.
