Only had the car one day and the battery is dead!
Called RAC and they advised that I should get the biggest battery I can get.
Book says 63 amps. What is the largest you can go for?
cheers

Well you could get a truck battery but I don't think you would find that it would fit.

Halfords list three batteries for the 944 two lead/acid and one calcium. Either get the bigger of the lead/acid or the calcium one and you shouldn't have too much of a problem turning the car over.

There are many reasons why a 944 won't start other than just the battery though. They are a very, very complicated car.

I have the calcium one it is smaller than the bigger lead acid one and offers the same or higher capacity - it also has a four year guarantee which might be usefull if you don't plan to use the car much in the winter.
Non starting could also be imobiliser / poor earths etc. so might be worth checking the battery volts before buying a new one.
