Help please. My recently purchased 996 C4S (my first Porsche) has been happily sitting around waiting for some decent weather, until today. I though I would just give it a little run and then plug in my new trickle feed battery charger purchsded last week but not installed!!! Low and behold the battery has died and I cant get into the car and the bonet release will not work either. Amateur mistake I'm sure but I would appreciate some help on how to get the car open and battery charging... Advise much appreciated.[:(]

What's that building just in front of the car? [8|] [8|]

Hopefully it will open with the key, but if not, drop me an email and I'll send you some photos of the emergency release cable.

Further to the earlier post, if you put the key in the drivers door and turn it towards the front of the car, you then wake the car up. After that, use your key fob as normal and you don't have to worry about the alarm. This has worked for me on both 996s.

Many thanks Chaps, panic over the key worked and the battery was fine, its now pluged in to the mains. Thanks for the hint on the garage, note taken and working on it. Happy New Year to everyone. [:)]

I did have a battery drain problem recently. It would drain down in less than a week. I spent hours with an amp meter and finally found it was the speedo. Someone had wired it to a permenant supply. There was also problem with the window wiring. I changed it all to stock, and now it takes a few weeks! Mucho pleased.

Its not good to let it stand for a while so a conditioner and or a battery isolation sounds good
