Can anyone recommend the best battery for a 1989 SSE? The battery I have seems to be going flat the whole time despite charging - it is 4 years old so I guess at the end of its life.

Many thanks, David

Hi there.
Have you checked that its not draining due to an electrical fault?
4 years on a car that presumably your not using every day isn't excessive.
I had a similar problem with my SC and it turned out to be draining the battery via a continuity fault with the alarm.

Hi Dave

Put a Bosch 12v silver HSB096 on my 1989 SSE 8 months ago, which was recomended to me from Statler in Sheffield, charged me £80.00,i have noticed halfords do the same for £116
