The users manual states , of course, replacement batteries should be Porsche branded.
I should like your advice on alternative please eg Halfords calcium.
Thanks Tony

I recently changed mine, Euro Car Parts wanted £80 something plus vat, Halfords quoted me something like £160, and 3 or 4 days to deliver, local OPC had one in stock , cost £120 all up, so I went for the Porsche one after all the original had lasted 13 years!

Do a search as this has been covered numerous times. Should not cost any more than £50!

Eurocarparts stock 'Lion' brand batteries with a lifetime warranty made by Bosch, the branded alternative 'Silver' has a 3 year and is £20 odd more. Bought one for my Targa 3 months ago and it's running fine.

I had to plump for a Halfords battery when mine went flat as time was of the essence (If I remember correctly, I think Maurice had to do the same thing at about the same time.)

It certainly hasn't held charge this winter as well as the old Porsche original, but it does the job. I will be going with the Bosch next time (unless I have another short time frame!)

My Bosch sat in the car (outside with no conditioner) for 3.5 weeks over xmas/new year and still had enough charge to start the car up on my return.

I'm another advocate of the Bosch.

I replaced my battery with the Bosch (bought from GSF Car parts) and it has served me well over the last two years. The car has often been left unused for 2 or 3 weeks (a tragedy I agree) and started with no issues at all.
