Hi all, just got "BATTERY/GENERATOR WARNING" on dashboard OBC, cleared it by pushing stalk forward and drove a few miles home to get the car to a safe location before switching it off...while driving it home i used "recall message" in "info" but no messages were present. I left the car for an hour and put key in and turned ignition on, no message, Ive then started engine and again no message and none in "recall message" Car is running fine...Any thoughts anyone?

Hi, I had this on my 2005 987 Boxster S earlier this year, I measured the alternator charging voltage across the battery and this seemed to be OK so I got a new battery from ECP, a Duracell one.

I still had the problem though so I got an exchange alternator from http://www.westlancsautoelectrics.co.uk/ . This was around £140 delivered including the pick up of the faulty alternator. All alternators are largely sold on an exchange basis.

This solved the problem and I fitted it myself, which isn't that difficult. Let me know if you go the DIY route as there is one refitting hint to pass on.

I hope this helps you and good luck.
