The battery in my 2005 997 C2S is unable to hold charge and I think I should replace. The battery in the car is a BOSCH S4 010 and is probably the second ever battery in the car. Any ideas if this is the correct or even best battery or not?

S4 represents the 4 year warranty version there is a 5 year warranty version S5 or 3 year version all will be ok Easiest thing to do is go to Eurocarparts type your car reg in and they will give you all the options info and prices.

I got an S5010 for my 997 just over three years ago from Tayna Batteries. 5 year warranty and slightly increased cold crank capacity.
Great price and delivery within 48 hours. Well worth a look.

I replaced mine in May with Bosch S5 010 from Tayna 85Ah 800 cold crank £81.62 plus VAT. A lot cheaper than eurocarparts and halfords, with quick delivery. Incidentally they are also the cheapest place for Mobil 1 £30 plus vat.

Thanks for the help. I found and bought a Bosch S5 096 from Euro Car Parts at £77.99 including VAT and I collected. It's 77Ah and 780 cold crank so slightly down on the 010 version. The 010 would fit slightly better than the 096 too.

Mine had a Yuasa in it when I got it (09 c2) and I've just replaced it with the same. 5 year warranty. CES Car Parts carry them
