battery life.

911 turbo newbie

New member
not been able to drive the car for 2 weeks due to a recent injury to my back, can people tell me how long it will last before i have problems with the alarm going off and any other problems that might occur when the battery gives up ther ghost!

It will go into it's 'sleep mode' if left longer than about 5 days. Just operate the door with the key to kick it back into life and then blip the key fob or else the alarm will sound

My battery lasts a fair while before it goes flat (In fact the new one never has). I leave mine quite afew weeks sometimes and it fires back into life with no problem. However my battery is only about a year old. there is a battery discussion somewhere in the DIY section that Richard Hamiltom posted. Depends how old yours is i guess. Mine was the original which lasted just under 5 years before i had to replace it

i have no idea what age mine is, but if i get to have a lot of problems, will get a new one,
the sleep mode seems a bit of a pain, i am sure will forget and open the door before realising my mistake[:D]
so to disarm, put the key in, turn the key, take it out and then lock as standard?

It's quite simple - if the button on the key doesn't unlock the car, then it's gone in to sleep mode.

Put key in door, turn it but don't open door. Press button on key as usual - car will unlock and alarm disarm.

Get in and drive [:)]
