Battery packs and in-car wifi to work with Thinkware U1000 dashcam

Hi - I have the U1000 2 channel system installed. It comes with parking mode but I'm concerned that this could affect the vehicle battery over time. Also, it has 'cloud' capability but that obviously needs permanent wifi. Any recommendations for battery packs and wifi solutions would be gratefully received. If anyone has done this could you share your experience. This is now starting to feel like peeling an onion - there's always another thing to think about.

You need something like the Cellink B Power bank. Not cheap but designed for the job. Have used these for the past 3 years with Blackvue and Thinkware dashcams without fail. Perfect solution for long term parking mode to stop drainage of your cars main battery. Also makes dashcam install and future upgrades easy as you just plug / hardwire them into the battery pack.

On a 911 there is plenty of space to mount these under the carpet of the passenger seat for a discrete install.

Cloud functionality of Thinkware is not as good as Blackvue, which provides a live option over wifi network which is both free and unlimited. Not familiar with your Thinkware camera but the 800Pro has the live cloud function but I have never found it as user friendly when compared to Blackvue which was easy to remote into. Probably more of a gimmick than anything else. Having said that I now have Thinkware cams in all my cars but I never use the Thinkware cloud service so its not all bad !

One last final point, to be able to access the camera via cloud clearly it needs to have a wi-fi connection. So unless the car is running and you have a network in the car ( 991.1 do not have this function, cant say for the 991.2 ) you wont be able to access the camera via cloud anyway. I only ever access mine for footage removal and i do that whilst in the car connecting to the camera via the app. So the cloud functionality is not used.

What are your plans for the cloud function?
