Battery Replacement

The battery on my 993C4 has died (again). Have tried charging it up but it refuses to hold enough amps to turn the engine over. Think it has had it. Before you ask I normally have a battery conditioner hooked up to the car when it stands idle but even this seems to have failed to prevent the alarm draining the thing.

My question is how difficult is it to replace the battery? Is it simply a matter of buying a new one and bolting it in or is it more complicated / difficult than that? If it's easy what sort of battery do I need to buy? Any ideas?

I changed the battery in my C4 last year. It is very straightforward. there is a standard clamp with a bolt holding it in. You will need to remove this and of course the two terminal clamps. I bought a Bosch Silver from German & Swedish. I managed to get one that was 72Ah.

Give Euro Car Parts a call , I use the Bosch Silver 74Ah which I bought a couple years ago from ECP.

Our Battery has also died... We're picking up a new one from Euro Car Parts tomorrow, as its only a quick trip into town... We'll let you know if it fits....

Thanks for that. Have looked at their website tonight. I'll wait and see how you go tomorrow before I get one.

Thanks

Yes.. just fitted the 75aH Bosch Silver from Euro Car Parts.. fits like a glove... also has the breather on the + side, to enable you to transfer the breather pipe... Your'll just have to find someone who is local and stocks them, as very few people will ship car batteries, too hazardous.....

Adam.
