Hi back to one of the old ones my new car battery. Exchanged on dec 2014 keeps going flat my electic windows still go up and down with the keys out and the ignition off. Can anyone help here please

On mine, the electric windows will go up and down with the ignition off, key removed, but only when the door is open. Is yours the same? If so, I think it is normal. If you are getting a large drain, best bet is to remove the earth cable on the battery, and put an ammeter between the battery post and cable. If it reads much above about 30mA, then it is drawing more current than it should. Try pulling fuses, one at a time, to see if you can identify the source. Failing diode packs on alternators can also cause a parasitic drain, common on 996's (my specialist subject!) but I don't know about 3.2s.

The windows will work if the doors are open, ing off. as the interior light pin switches control the window relay. To check if you have a current draw remove the battery earth lead, and connect a 20amp meter from lead to battery you should have only 0.08 of an amp. with every thing turned off and doors closed bonnet pin switch closed. The windows should not work with doors closed and ing off, So could be the window power relay Do the interior lights work ? Charles

Test to see if you can hear the window relay click when you press the interior light switch no ing . If not pop the speedo out and put your hand on the power window relay if warm could be faulty, Witch could be what is draining the battery. Report back.

Hi CHarles I have put in a new relay today am and will have to wait to see if battery goes flat and I will get back to you thanks again ps I have removed all the interior engine and boot bulbs to see if there may be a short
