BBS wheels?

I recently saw a 924S with BBS (BMW type) Wheels which, In my opinion, I thought looked very Nice....Yet, I cannot Find any BBS with 52ET or 130pcd 5 stud...
Anyone have them or Know of any...?

Personally, I think they look great on Beemers, but spoil the look of 944's and 928's. IMHO, the original Porsche design wheels are much better looking on our cars.
 
I found on youtube the 928 wheeler Dealers Programme where Giggling Mike Brewer ..Or at least Edd China Brings Back the 28 to it's former Glory...the First thing Mike says when seeing the BBS wheels is "erghhh.they've got to go"!
But I thought ..they're quite Nice...Must be a throwback from my MGbgt day..the wire wheels where Lovely...but Aweful to clean!
 
Yes, i agree with Mike Brewer on that, their 928 looked so much better with the teledials than the BBS. he got a great deal, though- straight swap.

On Wheeler Dealers, they've done a 924, 928 and a 911. It seems to me there is a notable classic Porsche makeover missing from that series.
 
I prefer the more open spoked BBS wheel that the GT3 cup cars seem to have. The Wheeler Dealers 928 looked awful with them on I thought, but then again it wasn't a particularly nice colour. Nice to see a neglected car brought back to it's former glory though.

I wish Ed was my spanner man!! Personally I thought Mike Brewer ruined Wheeler Dealers with his Diamond Geezer attitude to buying and selling cars. I'm sure he's a successfull dealer but would you buy a car off him with all his cheesy and stereotypical dodgy used car salesman patter?
 
I have seen a similar style on 4 stud 924s, but didn't much care for it. I've never seen them on a 944
 
If there is a few folks that dont like these.. Then, does anybody have any spare...???
I have a pair of rears in 17" , but i need a pair of fronts to make a set... I think there aprox 8" wide / 17" , poss et 52.?????
They are a 3 piece spilt rim...

I love em, very 80's looking which works great on the 44. However for me the best look of em all is a 924 carrera gt or early offset turbo wearing Fuchs. Gold centres also look fab on red cars.

I did seriously consider getting some custom made split rims with Fuchs look centres. I was going to get 4 16x8" in 38mm or so offset. This would put my rear tyres in the same place it is now. I run 245 wide tyres and 15mm spacers. The tyres get real close to the wheel arch lip but never touch. With 37 or 38mm offset I wouldn't need spacers on the back and get that lovely deep dish look at the same time.

8's work real well on the front assuming we can continue to get the tyres. My reading of the sprint rules down here and ISTR this is the same for most race series around that allow the 944, you can basically run the widest wheels and tyres that the car could have come with including for example fitting the same size wheels up front as on the back. Thus I could fit 8"or 9" wide rims and run 245 wide tyres on the front (as long as they don't stick out at the top since wheels arch extensions not allowed).

Cost is a bit prohibitive though and the ones I looked at still didn't quite look like Fuchs.

Those BBS on the 928 Brewer was so keen to get shut of were RS301 at a guess. Worth silly money in the VW scene. No wonder the salvage yard owner 'took them off his hands'. Brewer really is a knob when it comes to car parts.
Still, I agree with most that the wheels do not suit curvy cars. Stick to VWs and BMWs with the RS and RM range.
Porsches need less fussy rims. More classy and understated.

you could always buy other 5 stud BBSrs,such as Renault GTA or whatever, and use adapters or re-drill the centres as the nuts are covered. If you desperately want some let me know and I'll find some, but they will be a lot of brass. RMs will be cheaper as they are only two-piece splits.

Not silly money but really serious money for the right style/size.
