I'm going to be picking up my boxster next weekend a 2001 (51plate) 2.7

I could do with a bit of advice on the following:

1. after market warranties. has any taken one out, who does the best ones and how much should i expect to pay for a 12 warranty
2. insuance, its being bought as a weekend car, will probably do about 6-7k a year. i may do the odd track day. who should i try
3.mpg, what should i realistically expect.

thanks fo rthe help

The best warranty is the one from Porsche - you can still get it until the car is 10 years old.
£850-ish - but you will need to have th car inspected (about £100) and any necessary work done before it is accepted.
Other warranties are available, but usually limited on how much they will pay out [:'(]

All the insurers in Porsche Post would be a good start - or 911 & Porsche World if you are not yet a member.

MPG - depends how you drive!

I do about the same mileage in miy Boxster and found over the last 3 yrs that Direct Choice found me the best deals with reputable companies. They are on the internet or on 0845 1 285 285.
