Beading water on the roof

Hi, when I bought my used Boxster the roof had been protected , I expect with a silicon spray product, As it beaded up extremely well. Has any one any recommendations to make my baby bead. The paint is fine as it gets lots of Harly Wax , pure Brazilian #1 yellow Carnauba.[:)]

You get it in B&Q and will make the water bead off like the wax on your bonnet.

Used Renovo. Works but you need a couple of coats - applied with a paint brush... Always best to clean the roof before hand and ensure it is really dry before you proof it.

Personally use Nikwax TX Direct Spray On (like Fabsil Gold) designed for protecting Gore-Tex garments, tents, etc, but is ideal for soft tops. Works a treat and is easy to apply, I paid about £9 at my local camping supply store for a 500ml spray.

yes and no - it does stick to the windscreen if there is some overspray but I always make a point of cleaning the screen straight afterwards anyway, so it doesn't really matter..if you do have overspray it does come off without too much trouble.

I've always masked first - look for how to in the Boxster column in either Dec or Jan Porsche Post (I forget which!)

Tried all of the above and now stay with Fabsil.
£14.00 for a 2.5ltr can. Available from outdoor/camping type of shops...used for waterproofing tents.

Apply with a 2" brush (no masking and no overspray to clean up) to a clean and dry hood - that can will last you years!
