Hi Richard!

Thanks for your help ! Part number is slightly different to mine. I have a 2003 c4 cab with Becker CDR 23. my amp is part number 996.645.331.03

The one listed is 996.645.331.01. Do you know if this is a straight swap for my one?

Thanks Russ

Actually I think I have found answer. As far as I can see after a bit of googling 996.645.331.03 , 02 & 01 are all the same amp and thankfully looks like no programming or handshaking to deal with! Result, nearly spent £1100 earlier having it all ripped out and replaced with Alpine. I have bought the one on Ebay! can't wait to swap it over.

Now for some iPod integration. On the early Beckers it looks like you can buy a lead for CD aux for about 45 quid. On the CDR 23 the best solution I can find is the Dennison Gateway at about £300. Still a lot but a snip after my earlier close call!

The Focal 13KS speakers for the doors are tempting me too ;-)

Thanks so much for your help! Glad I joined now!

The last two digits are usually just a design revision. You might want to update the amplifier firmware on the older unit though. This can be done with an update CD. If you would like details, drop me an email.

Be careful with the speakers. You really need to check the impedance of the ones you have. Bose systems often use odd impedances. Maybe someone here who has upgraded can chime in.

The other option for iPod connectivity is the Mobridge, but I believe it is about the same price as the Dension.
