I'm about to fit the above into my Y2000 C2 it came with the sound upgrade.
The only difference on the pin connections on the back of the H/U is pin 6 on socket C1 is subwoofer line out but on my cdr 220 it's not assigned. Some one told me i need to connect term 5 on socket A (controll out to antenna/amp) to pin 6 on socket C1. Can anyone confirm? can i just splice or do i need to cut term 5 and connect to pin 6.
Please help
Thanks Chris.

Chris Take a look here: [link=http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/fb.asp?m=371297]http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/fb.asp?m=371297[/link] It is the same for the 2000 996, but if you want the wiring diagram for your car, drop me an email.

Richard thanks. Just so i understand (being a bit thick) do you swap the wires or just connect pin 5 wire to pin 6 or does pin 5 go to 6 and 6 goes to 5, if that makes sence.

You basically have to put a switched 12v+ve to the amplifier (pin 6 on yellow plug C1), as the Grand Prix hasn't got a switched output to that pin. The easiest place to take it from is from pin 5 on the black plug. If it was me, I would remove the black/red wire from pin 6 of the yellow plug, and splice it to the white wire going to pin 5 of the black plug. I hope this makes sense.

Perfect why didn't some one just say that! Only joking, geat help as allways. I must get round to writing that running report!

Oy! .. I did! ... from my posting to you on 11th march this year (see [link=http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=358752&mpage=1&key=becker%2Cwire&#358893]http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=358752&mpage=1&key=becker%2Cwire&#358893[/link]) ... I said
ORIGINAL: Diesel130 I fitted one last year and it's a brilliant device. Look absolutely original in the car. Bluetooth works perfectly with my Motorola KRZR - no disconnections or anything, it just auto syncs up when you turn it on. I had the CDR22 with optional amplifier and it was virtually plug and play, but I had to make a small change to switch the external amp on as the external power is on a different pin to the OEM box. Here's the detail if you need to do this ... [blockquote] Just wanted to add that I got my 7990 today, went to install it and no sound. It seems that if you have the factory fitted amp module (not Bose) it doesn't work out of the box as the signal from the unit on the CDR22/32 that switches the amp on is no longer on the 7990. It's been replaced by a sub driver. So, thanks to some help from another forum here is the fix: Cut the wire going to C1-6 (yellow block), leave about an inch spare in case you need to add in a sub. Splice this free wire into the pin 5 on block A ie A5. You can get all this info in the back of the 7990 and CDR22/32 head unit manuals. [/blockquote] Also see my other thread on fitting it ....
