Belts replacement

How much should I expect to pay for a full belts/tensioners change; and is it sensible to change the chain and its tensioners at the same time?

Never had it done in isolation so I can't say, worth replacing any suspect rollers and the water pump if its more than 8 years old.

You're talking about £300 all in for the belts. Rollers can be about £60 each and the water pump about £300 IIRC

If you have a 16 valver it's also a good idea to change the cam CHAIN and at the very least the slipper pad on its tensioner

Water pump is more like £120, otherwise I'd tend to agree. Get the chain and tensioner checked (and the cams) - assuming as Paul says you have a 16v of course? BTW there are 7 rollers with varying prices but you won't need all of them and £60 is a fair average price.

So its about a 4 hour job for a specialist garage, plus parts? And of course assuming all goes to plan...

Whereabout? Never had the water pump changed on mine IIRC (1984 & 140000 miles) or at least not in living history. About to get the belts done, should I?

Well its up to you but if it siezes it could take out the belts - also the retensioning can make them leak, which means getting the belts refitted,
