bent wheel

I hit a grid last week and totaled my front wheel, bent the rear rim. the wheels are miglia cup 2's has anyone ever straightned one of these? I'm going to have to replace the front ,but the rear I'm hoping to get fixed. I'll get a photo of said damage when I find the camera! any help appreciated.

Don't even think about it. The wheel was cast and the material doesn't have the property to bend and certainly not bend back.

I don't know if you have protected NCB, or if you have declared the wheels to your insurance company but if the cost of replacement is prohibitive why not claim for a new set?

Hi Simon

You have to watch those welsh grids they bite really hard.[]

The offer of using my spare set of wheels still stands while you sort out your Cup 2's.

Farrel is over my way next week so if you want to use them let me know and I will pop them in his van and he can drop them off for you.

Good excuse to buy some new alloys anyway, save time having to clean the other ones[:D]

Catch up with you soon.

Lee

ps. you don't fancy going to Porsche Festival on 29/30th do you??

Simon

Have you tried alloywheelrepairs.com? Whilst I have fortunately not needed to use their services [yet] I know people who have and they are very good at this sort of thing.

I believe the guy is called Ian Jemison and his Boxster rally car was featured in 911 & Porsche World earlier this year / late last year. One of my fellow local Porsche enthusiasts calls on him through work and speaks very highly of him.

At the very least he must be worth a call (they are near York) - it could save you a fortune on new wheels / additional insurance premiums following a claim.

Good luck!
Ian

Thanks everyone for your reply's, i bought some origional teledials with pirrelli 6000's on to tied me over so at least i'm back on the road ! I think i'll be saving for a couple of new wheels and a set of tyres, but for now i'll give alloywheelsrepairs a call and see what he can do. Lemon I'll get back to you about the porsche festival although it is kind of a tricky time of year so I do'nt know if I can pull it off,Fnar Fnar.
