Hi folks,

Ok, so I dont have a garage and my 964 is going to be hibernating for much of the winter out of the wet/salt/cold (whilst i commute on the train), but I will still get her out some weekends/evenings.

Im looking at a myriad of covers and wondered what you guys have bought and for what purpose (outdoor specific advice would be helpful[8|])?

any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

There is a school of thought [8|] that says you shouldn't use a cover because it traps moisture underneath it and promotes corrosion, rather than helping to protect against it.

Other may have different views/experiences...

Plus, you can never get them tight enough to stop the howling wind rubbing the cover against the paintwork.

My mate bought a small outdoor tent type cover (about the size of a single garage)which is for permanent all year round use. It has a metal framework which bolts together and can also be bolted to the ground. The weatherproof covering is then secured tightly over the frame in effect making a covered garage area. Also good for BBQ's come the summer!![:D]

Think he got it from JTF or Makro for under 200 quid

I've got one but only use it for really long periods when the car is standing. This is because you really need to put it on the car when it is totally dry and then take it off when it is equally dry. This is a right PITA!

hmm methinks I'l get a voyager cover thats breathable so it protects from major down pours, but enables me to put it on overnight even if its wet (avoiding PITA)!
