Best 997 for ride comfort?

I'm currently driving a 2009 Boxster S which is a stunning drive but becoming a little tiresome for my old bones on our raggedy roads.

I'm determined to remain loyal to the brand as I've never had any other car that comes close to driving feel but was wondering if any of the 997.2 options offer a more compliant ride. I need to say that 19' wheels are a must!

Perhaps a cab as opposed to coupe?

from my experience, I find the 997 S Cab a lot more comfortable than my previous 997 coupe. It could be that the Cab has softer suspension when in normal mode.
 
'Best' is rather subjective.

I thought the Boxster had a superb ride/handling compromise, although it does depend on suspension spec and tyre/wheel sizes.

Personally, I like the 997 GT3 - flat, stunning handling, firm ride, but surprisingly compliant. Can jolt a bit on a rough road.

New Turbo is very comfortable with a very clever chassis.

ACtually if it floats your boat my GT3RS is really good, I could not quite beleive it wen I first got it but its lovely

Just did 1000 miles in the latest Turbo 'S' and the comfort and body control really is the best I've come across in any performance 911 since the lovely 2.7RS. Some surfaces do induce some tyre noise though.

Cant agree there, my new GT3 RS GEN2 is so comfortable and compliant, much kinder to me than my old 430 or Turbo Gen 1, I just dont get the harsh ride at all.

Was that not because Porsche wanted to reduce the rattles that are common on Targa's?

The question was what is the most compliant, not what is surprisingly acceptable. So it stands to reason that the least track focused model would be the most compliant, with greatest ride heights etc

Only it had it 8 days so not played with it yet, but as mostly used on the road , with occasional use wont be changing it. Also warranty to consider, Question then why is teh Turbo gen 1 so hard when on sports setting?

Interesting post re the Targa being specifically set up with softer settings although a bit concerned re the rattles - is this really an issue?

I understand its was more the older cars than the 997 G 2 , it was to do with the seals not being tight enough and also when the body flexed the seal squeaked.
 
I have sports seat in my 08 Turbo and hate them, th eturbo is way too hard compared with my C4S on nos sport seats.
Would never have sports seats again , they look good but seriously unconfortable for me
 
If you really want comfort then ditching the 19" wheel requirement is a good start...

Edit:

Have you got PASM? Stay out of Sport Mode and it should be pretty comfortable.
 
If softness of ride is what you are looking for, Targa 4 will have the softest ride, next will come basic 997 coupe and cab. PASM in comfort mode will be a bit less soft than the standard spring suspension so all "S" models will be somewhat "less" comfortable.
