Looking for advice about sourcing fitted carpet (over) mats for a 3.2. There's so much out there and it's hard to compare/judge quality. Thanks in advance, Nick

Try calling Matt Smith at Type 911: 020 8402 8424.

I purchased a set recently and are a perfect fit, very high quality and sensibly priced.

Cheers,

Nick.

I should shortly be collecting a set from Southbound - will let you know how they look. From memory they were cheaper than T911.

I also got mine from CocoMats.

Very good indeed but not cheap. They are heavy, if weight is a concern to you (car weight, that is!). But as BigSi says, they will last forever!

Takes a while to get them as they send you a template first. I used the original mats to scrib around them. Then you send them back for them to make the carpets to size specifically for your car.

Worthwhile getting the small rear ones made at the same time.

Yes I think they are lovely. Seen a few cars fitted with them. I'd get some but can't see a colour or pattern that would fit my car other than black or solid ones. My car is black with linen interior and carpets. I still have the original linen floor mats but they are now tatty so I use cheap black ones and change them every few years. Also I use my car vitrtually all year and living in the sticks, the roads are filthy all the time.

Mats collected from Southbound yesterday. Pretty sure they're sourced from Autostyle but Southbound install eyelets so that the later style factory retaining "arms" and their rotating toggles can be used to hold the mats securely in place. Not the cheapest option but they look good and won't wander.

Have you tried fitting the 'arms'? I got mine from Southbound, but I think the brackets (and probably the mats) are for 964s, and the brackets on the centre needed some serious hacking and bending to make them fit. The mats seemed too wide at the back, and run up the centre tunnel a bit. The mats are great quality though. (I know, it needs a damned good vacuum!)

The overmat fitting kits are only available for 964/993 from Porsche, which explains your problem I think

There is a big difference in 3.2 and 964 mats though!
