My wife broke down in her car today...She rang me and said the rescue service would come out and collect her and her car in about an hour. I said l'll be there and stay with her.

Half an hour later and twenty miles away from home I saw my wife in the layby at the side of the road and started to brake. My rear right wheel locked and I went sidewades into a hedge. Luckly I did no damage to the car about from the front bumper.

I have ordered a new bumper and want to know what the best colour primer is best for Guards red.

Can anyone tell me please.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your bump!

Red is a difficult colour to paint as it is fairly translucant so the best colour primer is WHITE as it reflects the red .

Hope this helps

i had to paint a mirror on mine(guards red) i used red primer as i was advised-it turned out to be too dark!! in the end i started again and used grey primer and was ok.

Many thanks.

Once the bumper is done I'll give my car a full pre winter service and clean.

Cheers
