Best option for 964 wheels on my 964

I am looking at buying a set of wheels for my 964 and unfortunately Speedlines are out of my budget.

2 wheels so far are coming out tops, the Veloce 3.6 one piece at £980

http://www.velocewheels.com/veloce36/

And the RH Split Rims at about £2300

http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod4391/18--P-RAD-3part-Split-Rim-Alloy-wheels-for-Porsche-Cars/

Does anyone have any recommendations or a good second hand set for sale?

Thanks

I suggest a set of OE Cup 1's which were the original fit I think.

The car will drive properly and look right, and anything you spend on them will add double to the car

Veloce look good but are made of an alloy of Lead and concrete.

Just my 2p

as an aside, drop the car an inch to avoid the 964 allroad stance

Car is already on its original Cup 1's but want something different and bigger.

Also looked at the Fuch wheels

My advice would be to go for the lightest wheels (and tyres) you can - unsprung weight saving is the key to better ride, handling, steering, braking, acceleration......

Think of it as going for a run in a pair of wellingtons or a pair of lwt trainers. The difference will be noticeable on a 964.

Hi Martin, I'm genuinely not trying to invoke a sale of my cup 1s (in 8s & 9s) to you but what size is your current set? I found the 8s really made a difference on my 968 at the front.

Nothing wrong with the Cup 1's on the car I just fancy a change of wheels and 18" Fuch or Speedline Split Rim style seem to be the preferred options so far 😄

I've heard 2nd hand that the Veloce wheels are heavy even though they look very good.

They aren't split rims though which did surprise me when I was looking at them. The small bolts around the rims are glued on and prone to falling off. When the rims corrode, as they all do eventually, you'll find it harder to clean it off to restore them.

Hi David, thanks for that, I've decided that the Veloce wheels are it's for me. It looks like either the RH Split Rims or the Fuch ones [:)]

As I have 4 sets of wheels I may be able to help

Get set of AP Cup (keskins) they are a great fit no rubbing they have lasted 3 years in all conditions including snowy Spa track days with very little corrosion oh and they look great

Oh I,know of a set of brand new Fuch 18 for sale 2 weeks old £2200 is with out tyres

Is this Mark in Ireland? If so I've been in touch with him and he also has them on eBay starting at £1800.

I can claim Vat back so a new set is only £1965.00 to me so a second hand set doesn't add up unless they are cheaper

My mate has photo shopped the RH AL Cup Split Rim wheels and the Fuch Wheels onto my car.

So which ones??? [:D]
