Best pads for a 993 ?

Hi guys after Brands the little light tells me the pads are getting low ..........

Can you recommend something for fast road / track day use please, do they do a sintered pad ?

I found the ( I assume) std pads very soft / dusty although no problem with performance, thinking something with a little more bite and a bit more agressive, or is it best to stick with std fitment pads from porsche ?

Also noticed the drilled holes in the discs blocked up very easily, do they all do that with std pads or has someone fitted something softer do you think ?

Paul, it depends what discs & callipers, you are running,, on standard RS spec disc/pads, you can get away with standard pagid/textar pads, next step on is pagid blues(road/track), then you go to pagid yellow RS19/29, the endurance pad,,,last forever, but more noise!

I currently have Performance friction,,,but am due a disc/pad change soon and will more than likely go to standard ads, for road and trackdays/cost, they suit my needs.

Allways drill out holes in disc to aid cooling, all pads do they to a certain extent and never allow it to build up.
 
I normally drill and blow out with an airline when I put the track wheels on but car and garage / workshop are seperated at the moment !! they did seem to hold a lot more brake pad dust than all the previous cars hence my question regarding the softness.

Pagid blue seems the way to go maybe
 
I have just done a front disc/pad change on my RS. I fitted OEM discs supplied by Euro Car Parts and initially Porterfield pads but found that they were 3 mm too small in diameter, meaning that they would quickly create an unworn lip on the outer edge of the disc. We then fitted Textar pads which are OEM; they are the correct size. Ths is something we find all the time; OEM parts fit straight away and work perfectly, any aftermarket parts either fit improperly or create problems elsewhere. Change the brake fluid at the same time, it's amazing the difference fresh Racing Blue makes. While the car is up on the ramp get the mechanic to check all the suspension bushes and ball joints. Mine was found to have a split bush at the front and a worn ball joint at the rear! Not a cheap to fix but it will obviously make an enormous difference to the handling.
 
I use EBC pads; always been great and none too expensive.

I also recommend changing to AP600 race fluid or similar. Bit of a faf as needs replacing at least annually but combination works well.
