Best place for 997 Turbo Wheels?

Hi,

I've found another car to see tomorrow which looks like it could be 'the one'

Just so I get the sums right before making an offer, I'd like to put a set of original Porsche 997 turbo wheels on there.

It is a C2S (Cab), so I can't buy a second hand set off a turbo/C4S as the offsets are different.

Can anyone recommend places to buy an original set of 997 turbo wheels? (Have to be original to satisfy the OPC Extended Warranty)

I only know of Jasmine....

I hate to state the obvious but to be sure of no warranty issues you could go to an OPC.....

I don't want to give an OPC any excuse to wriggle out of a potential warranty claim...plus replica turbo wheels are much heavier aren't they?

The way Porsche UK seem to be interpreting their warranty at present would suggest if the wheels are not standard for the car (model even) it voids the warranty

Well when you buy a new Porsche 997 C2S, you can choose from a selection of wheels, including the turbo ones.

They just supply the ones with the correct offset.....

I understand Dougies reasoning behind his comments, I think the GT3 anti roll bar was an example.
But Yes you can buy the wheels as a spec on a new car from the OPC..

I have seen the Turbo wheels etc on fleebay- even as much as it pains me to mention the place [&:]

I am still in half a mind to sell my original Turbo wheels. The rims are just sitting in the garage practically new (50 miles on them).

How much would a set from the OPC cost?

Hi Alex,

The offsets on your wheels would mean it wouldn't be appropriate for the C2S I'm afraid, just the C4S and turbo.

I've just spoken to Simon at Jasmine Motorsport, and they have quoted for an original set of turbo wheels, with the correct offset for a C2S at £3,086 inc VAT to include 4 N rated new Continental Tyres.
They are also taking in the present wheels (Which are 19' Carrera Classics) for £700

So I would pay £2,386 which I think is very very good!

Fingers crossed I can buy the car tomorrow [:D]

Good luck with your purchase.

Personally if I was in the market for new wheels I would sprint to South West Tyres and get myself a set of these new babies:

They would transform the handling, performance and looks of any 997!

Thanks.....

Those look lovely but its that damn Porsche Extended Warranty that I want to keep intact!

Incidentally, I have spoken to an OPC who are also offering a set of turbo wheels, Michelin Pilot Sports all round, and centre caps for £2,995.....which again is a fantastic price.

I don't understand...why can't you just put the current wheels back on when you visit the OPC? The rest of the time you could be living it up in style!! [:D]

Ok if you never have to call on Porsche Assist to transport you to the dealership.

You should be able to get £900 or more for the old wheels on ebay, provided the tyres have some life in them, a good set of rubber would see nearer £1100.
