Best place to by 997 tyres?

Need to get 2 x Michelin Pilot Sport 235/35 ZR 19 tyres ASAP for the front end of my 997 Carrera S

Managed 14k miles on the fronts. Should I be embarrased?

Where should I go, and what should I pay?

Cheers

Dave

I bought a Bridgestone front from Pneus-Online recently. Price was competitive but main attraction was offer of two year's flat tyre insurance for an additional £4. The insurance is limited to 75% of value in year one and 50% in year two but IMO is very good value. I just did a quick search on Michelin prices (but check spec) http://www.pneus-online.co.uk/car-tyre-MICHELIN-235-35-r19-87-ZR-sSUMMER.html - these are £181 each which I believe includes delivery but you will need to factor in cost of fitting.

Give your local Costco a ring, if you are a member, for price-check... Price includes fitting and you can watch so they don't damage your alloys ;-) You will have to pre-order them as they do not stock N rated tyres...

Costco are definately cheapest in the country. Well worth the £20 joining fee. They also do a 20% offer twice a year. You can also buy the tyreswhen the offer is on keep the receipt and have them put on when you need them.

Savings on Tyres and Mobil 1 (at £23 inc VAT) more than pays for the membership...well worth it... I was talking to one of the Michelin guys at a motor show and he said places like Costco hardly make any money from the customers; all the money comes from Michelin rebates...

I looked on their web site but there doesn't appear to be any way us retired folk could sign up [&:]. Are there any loopholes?

Best to ring your local Costco and ask, I know there is various levels of membership and the only difference is the access time i.e. I think non-trade accounts are not allowed in the mornings (weekdays)... If everything fails then get a friend or a relative who has a trade account to add you as an additional trade account holder on their account which works out really cheap at £12 a year...

After a brief discussion I obtained a pair of N1 Michelins 235/35 ZR19's from Protyre Glos including balancing n fitting for £360. Always helpful - they shipped them down from Halifax for me and kept the old ones until I could return for them ( to be used as spares in case of punctures).

£181 is a good price. Mytyres are offering them at £193.80.

Just rang Costco and the above are at £193.27 fitted; £185 (tyre insurance included) looks pretty good.

as someone else has said-costco good price but make sure u stay with car as a friend of mine had his bmw alloys well and truly b*****red by them-they didnt reimburse wickedwheels cost either so ended up VERY expensive[]

I always use protyre in Bristol. Very helpful and always reassuring to see other high performance sports cars in there.
