Best place to source new knob....?!

Anyone replaced their gearknob and gaitor recently at all?

It is the one thing that lets the interior of mine down as it is looking a bit tired after its 135000 miles of handling and I wanted to find the cheapest and best route to replacing it - yes I know those two parametres may well be mutually exclusive[8|]

Thanks again

Hi Nick,

I got mine from Prestige Parts, not cheap at about £43, but that was for linen leather which is hard to find. Comes supplied ready fitted to the knob and the fit was perfect(unlike many I've seen).

There's also a core charge of £25 which is refunded on return of your tatty old one. Fitting the replacement knob only takes a couple of minutes and you'll have a better result than you're likely to achieve yourself....well worth it IMHO

I bought a new cover/gator for a tenner from ebay. you have to fit it yourself to your existing knob but its not hard to do. Im very happy with the result. The only problem now is that it shows the rest of my interior up!!

Black's fine if you've got a black leather, pinstripe or logo cloth, but I reckoned the linen was worth the premium as it well matched my interior. The only problem is the black cap.....I was thinking of casting one in clear [;)][:D]

Well, I've plumped for the Prestige Parts knob and gaiter combo.

Did try Porsch Apart first, but they had none in.

This is where the FAQ sections would come in handy, especially with the links etc to good quality suppliers....[:)]
