Best/worst MPG

As I wait the last few weeks for my new Boxster I was wondering what the best and worst MPG I can expect. What do you get?

My car is going to be a 2.7 987 (I was told today it will be born next week) so I am particularly interested in figures for that but I would also like to see how the other variants of Boxster compare. If I get a good response I will update this with the records (at both ends). So I need model, engine size and best/worst MPG.

It very much depends on your driving style and what you are driving on.

A good run on a motorway will return MPG well in excess of 30. [:)]

Silverstone - about 12! [&:]

If you're getting in excess of 30 on a motorway you need to go faster

Driving back hoem form Reading after collection of 987S - average got up to 31.7 but this was during a 7 mile stretch of 50mph roadworks. I used A roads for the last 50 miles and by the time i got home the average was down to 31.1.

Used daily for my short commute my average is 22.2

34mpg at 55mph on a motorway, and 9mpg just being silly trying to get the figure as low as possible!

2.5 97 tip

mine's a 986 so you'll probably do better - while cruising on Motorway at 80-85 I get about 32mpg (according to trip computer). Around town, where car generally reaches full temp - I get 21-22mpg. Spirited A-road driving seems to give me mid twenties, but then I refuse to be a lunatic on public roads. I've yet to get on a track but intend doing it very soon.

I have not reset my on board computer in the 2 years [c.20k miles] that I have had my car.

Average, according to the computer, is 34.9 mpg. This is for 2-3 dys use per week, a number of longish journies and driving in /through central London.

I must admit that I do not 'floor it' often - but the computer says that I can get 450-500 miles on a full tank of petrol [Optimax/Ultimate].
