After posting that I was looking for a 2.2 / 2.4s I have gone completely mad and bought this.

. Personally I don't think you gone mad, you've bought a thing of beauty and you'll have yrs of no faffing about with restoration fun with the car. Am I right in saying this car was featured in a Porsche mag a few months back??? I know I've read about it and swooned over it. Enjoy
 
I've had a good look at that car and it is a stunning restoration. Enjoy - that is a wonderful car to have in your collection.

So was it the car that was featured in a 911 mag???? Canfords will know
 
No I haven't.
When I made my offer the car was on its way up to Kendal in a covered transporter for a first service with engine builder Mike Bainbridge - it has done 600 miles and is now run in. It will then go back to Alan in Southampton for a final PDI before delivery to me at home. Then I get to have a go. I have driven 2.2s before, but never one that is factory fresh like this one. Can't wait
 
Just discovered that the big meet up on Sept 4th is just down the road from me. So hopefully will be able to show the car to some of you.
 
Yes please bring it along. I'd like to see it and I am sure many others will too.

Alan has asked me to put it on his stand so it will definintely be there.
Tried to join up to DDK but AOL emails are banned it would seem so couldn't get past the registration process.

there is no need to justify! if we had the money we would have all bought it in a heart beat enjoy.
