Cotswold Region Sunday visit to Bibury

This is a reminder and an update for the Cotswold Region lunch (and possible mini WOTY). Of course, like all Club regional events, it is open to everyone in PCGB. The more the merrier; well, within reason. We will be limited to about 24.

The date for your diary is confirmed as Sunday 19th September. Should you wish to make a weekend of it there is much to do in the area, least of which is the Cotswold Air Show at nearby Kemble Airport on the Saturday and Sunday. Brimming with history and charm, Bibury Court Hotel is a stunning eighteen bedroomed Jacobean mansion dating from Tudor times. Bibury village itself is described by many as the prettiest village in England so there is much to see within a short walk from our lunch venue. If you are making a weekend of it and require suggestions for things to see or places to stay, please contact me on 01367850002 or email djs5@btinternet.com.

As previously planned, the basic format is Sunday lunch. As with previous lunches we have secured a fantastic price given the top quality of this very popular manor house. We will also have exclusive use of the Conservatory which looks out over the pretty gardens and the River Coln. The meal will cost no more than twenty quid. That will also cover a reasonable gratuity for the staff, who are always most attentive.
The backdrop provides the perfect venue for pics of our lovely cars and to that end I have arranged an exclusive photo shoot to take place at midday immediately in front of the Manor. Following the photo shoot, we will repair to the River Terrace bar for pre-lunch drinkies, then sit down to eat at about 1pm. Later, most of us expect to walk along the river, through the grounds or around the village (there is plenty to see), then return to Bibury Court to stuff ourselves with the optional scrummy alfresco afternoon tea! Please don't feed the greedy ducks; they will have your fingers off!

Check out the venue, address and travel directions at: http://www.biburycourt.co.uk/Home.aspx
You can join us there at Bibury Court or why not drop by Cornbury House, our Club HQ, on the way. We will aim to leave there about 11:30 am to drive in convoy the 20 miles to Bibury. A photographer will be in attendance to capture your arrival for posterity. As with all events, we would like you to decide at least a week before hand so we can give the hotel a heads up on numbers, but there is no need to pay in advance. We also suspect that this event will be over subscribed so don't leave your decision too late; first come, first served. Please let Geoff know by latest September 11th on 01865880626 or email r31@porscheclubgb.com

Just a note to remind guys that it is now exactly one month to our Sunday lunch/Photo Shoot at Bibury Court (see above). Places are filling up fast and we can only take 24; that's a mere 12 couples by my advanced maths [:D]. If you don't want to be disappoointed & wish to come, place a note here or email me or Geoff direct. This is open to all Club members.
