A short but sincere thank you to Alan, Wayne and all involved in organising Porsche Avenue today.

I think it was a record turnout and was enjoyed by all.

Well said Brian. Alan we hope that you and Fiona start to feel well again very soon.

Yes, so glad that Alan and the team were rewarded with 111 Porsches. Travelling through the thick fog and driving rain on the way up we expected a low turnout, but it was quite the reverse throughout the site. Another great day at this excellent venue.

Very many thanks guys for all your kind words and thanks to Martin for posting his pics of the event. It was good to see you all even though Alan was suffering from a heavy cold and probably wasn't making any sense (so what's new?) what with having a hanky over his face and not much voice most of the time.

We just did a bit of publicity here and there and brought some flags along; you guys did the hard bit of rolling out of a warm bed early on a damp and misty Sunday morning and rocked up on a bleak airfield at North Bicester to display your Porsches. We were amazed at just how far some folks had driven to arrive at 09:00. We were aware of people driving from Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Kent, London, the South Coast and East and West Midlands, so goodness knows what time they'd have set off from home. There's also an article in the Oxford Mail for the full story if you're interested.

Last but certainly not least, we're extremely grateful to Wayne and Stuart who were once again the real heros at Bicester having rocked up at 07:30 in the dark to help get things ready and perform traffic management duties throughout the morning, managing to park up the 116 Porsches (the finally tally) along Porsche Avenue (and around the corner and on the grass).

We're also pleased to have received an email from the Bicester Heritage organisers yesterday who told us "we were delighted to see yet again the fantastic support from the Porsche Club GB – we are very grateful to you both and the wider club.". BTW, they hinted that they've got some interesting new ideas for the next event on 23 April, so hope you'll put this date in your diary or on your fridge.

Again, a huge thanks to everyone who came along on Sunday to make it such a successful event.

Likewise Nick,

Were you in Grey or Yellow?

Are you able to make the meeting at Fulbrook tomorrow?

Indeed thanks to all and nice to chat to so many. Sorry to have missed you Brian.

Many thanks to Alan for posting the Oxford Mail pic - I am the proud owner of the Seal Grey Boxster S featured! I'll have to try and find 100 copies of the paper.
This was my third Scramble and probably the best yet in terms of the variety of cars present - if not in terms of weather.
Looking forward to the next in April.

chris.
