Your input and dulcet tones were sadly missed.
Michael,
You are very kind. As it turned out I might have just made the meeting but, with a current regime of days in either Cambridge or Norwich, and working all weekends fitting out a Dentists surgery, I was pretty shattered any way. What was more frustrating is that my absence was primarily due to the incompetence of others. []

I agree the talk was quite informative, though if you like I take a keen interest in "other" sites most of the knowledge wasn't new. But worth the trip to meet some faces, and break the PCGB cherry.
Nigel Sorry I forgot to say hello if you were there........whoops and thanks for the directions,
Halfords were doing the Angel for 349, and some othe sites I'd previously visited were doing them for 340..........
see you all next time?

I spoke to Andrew at balckspot about the pitfalls of buying secondhand and he said it would be a good idea to ask the seller for the serial number and then Email him it. He can then check to see if it is stolen as stolen units will not update.
I have Andrews email address if anyone does the same as me.
New ones can be found a www.bennetts.com for 284.99 with free postage!

That looks like the best price I've seen.
A word of warning - unless they've up dated the Road Angel it only comes with a serial lead. This is a right pain if your main computer is an all USB lap top. I had to fire up my old tower unit so that I could up date mine.
Did Road Angel man make any claims about the radar detector add on. I thought it looked a bit naff and had heard that they are of little use as you only get a warning when you've been clocked - which is a bit late. Lazers are usually aimed at the number plate so you may not even get a signal with the unit looking through the screen.
My other thoughts were that the Lazer detector add on looked a bit conspicious and might be more inclined to encourage a traffic cop to stop you. Mine has been disconnected and flung in the glove box.
Well it would be wouldn't it, since your competence in many areas is well known by most of us! [8D]my absence was primarily due to the incompetence of others

You'll make me blush. []

I have an S4 Neo and on the whole I am very pleased with it although these GPS systems are only as good as the server data base. I picked up my car from Edinburgh about a month ago and purchased the Neo S4 the day before for my return journey, it was working fine until I got flashed by a camera in Northumbria..... letter just through my door this week. It also does not have the camera by Billericay Station registered (not that I would speed in that kind of built up area). The other frustrating thing is it also alerts me to lots ex-camera spots although I'd rather be made aware than not.
My view is that I keep aware and cautious as before but with a GPS unit my chances are decreased further.
By the way how are you MR.T ? - Will@Zodiac
(I notice that above it says I'm a non member although I am. How can I sort this please?

If it says "Non Member" by your name, you need to confirm your Membership Number and Forum Name to Sophia at Club HQ (email forum@porscheclubgb.com ) This should be a one-time fix, and will also allow you access to the member-only areas of the Forum.
This information was included at the bottom of the email sent when most members joined - unfortunately it seems to be easily overlooked (who reads beyond the "confirm your email address"?...)
Hope to see you and your car at one of our monthly meetings.
Ditto to that.
