Big Reds

Gents, need a bit of help for my brother. He owns an Audi RS2 (I own a 911 carrera) the one with the Porsche modified engine and the Big Red front brakes. He has the car looked after by an Audi specialist but it currently needs front brake discs and pads. His Audi specialist is having trouble sourcing these at a reasonable price. Can anyone advise of a Porsche specialist in his area (Romsey/Salisbury) that may be able to supply these parts or supply and fit? Likely price?

Thanks for your help in advance

Kindest

Mike

Coincidentally there has been a discussion about this on Pistonheads recently and the definitive (but unverified) answer came from another RS2 owner. Standard RS2's were supplied with the 968 red callipers and 304x32mm discs but there was an option to have the true 993TT big red calliper which had 322x32mm discs.

I think the best source would be Bert Gear at www.berlyn-services.co.uk and Bert may well know the answer, but also call www.auto-amd.co.uk as they do a lot of Porsche brake conversions for Audi and VW owners (but will be pricier than Bert [:D] )

Thanks for your information so far, I will pass this on to my brother (big brother that is) and post some information when he comes back to me.
Just for info his RS2 lived in the Audi museum (near Milton Keynes) for several years; according to his supplying dealer. Jon (brother) bought the car about two years ago with a genuine 20,000 mile on the clock, for what he paid he could have bought the rest of a real turbo not just the brakes! Just a little brotherly rivalry..... It is perhaps a little more practical and the 911 would not take the tow bar so well.... It's a quick car though!

Cheers[:D]
