Big time engine problem -need a mechanic!

Need some engine help here please.

I just recently got this car(1989 944 2.7) an already a big engine problem has accrued.

My mechanic had a look for me and he tells me that the cambelt tentioner failed and the cambelt messed up the timing in effect bending some valves. He seems to think the balance shaft might be damaged as well but isn't sure.

I think I can get the parts from the porscheshop by me. However I don't know anybody who would be able to perform the repair as in my garage we mainly do body repairs and don't have a clue about this engine although I got the manual.

Does anybody know a mobile mechanic or a garage in the West Midland/Worcestershire area that could help?
I really like my 944, it's in excellent condition apart from the engine fault so I don't want to scrap it.

I'll second that - especially as you're in the West Midlands...saying that, I don't think twice about driving a 260-mile round trip to get stuff done on my car by them. [:)]

Give Kevin a call - 0121 328 2225 - see if you can catch him today, I know EMC will be busy with the CSCC race at Oulton Park this weekend.

Where are you based?

Tires in Charles Street Worcester deal with classic and sports cars and rebuilt my 944S head when the belt snapped... tell them Dave with the white 944S sent you [;)]

Also a place in Leigh Sinton (nr Malvern) but not had any personal experience of their work and some others on the region page -
