Bike rack for a 944

babyjack

New member
I've just returned from a week at center parcs, with my wife and 15 month old son. Did it in the S2, baby seat in the back & luggage in the boot.
Still love it's practicality & a better drive than a Picasso/Zaffira!
The only thing I couldn't take was the pushbike.Has anyone attempted to fit a bike rack,if so which one?I suppose it would go up on the tailgate glass as the rubber spoiler gets in the way, any thoughts?

what sort of baby seat do you have? I've just got a 2nd hand one which fits the seat, but the belt is too short!

A stripped down mountain bike will fit in the boot of my 924 if that information's any use to you? not much room left for luggage though!

Has anyone attempted to fit a bike rack,if so which one?

I'd guess that most proprietory bike racks aren't made for cars with the rear profile of a 944. Or an Aston, Ferrari, Hyundai Coupe etc. [:D] That said, they seem to be deliberately designed to obscure the rear lights on any car they are fitted to...

I'd suggest finding an original roof rack. You do know what those four bolts under the rear hatch are for, don't you? [;)]

Finding a bike rack to fit on a proper roof rack should be easy.

this is the seat I got

It fits the rear seat with a good shove & no issues with the belt length. The boy loves it!
I may post a thread with pics when I get time
