BILSTEIN B6

I need to change the front shocks on my C4S and have decided to go for Bilstein B6 as opposed to the standard B4 which are on the car. I have just been told that there are not any around and there is a back order. None of the suppliers have any. Apparently a wait of 6 weeks!
I find this incredible. Has there been a mad rush for Bilstein suspension products!!!

Any comments most welcome. Thanks

I think some manufacturers have to re-tool production for certain components when demand is high enough - same with Porsche suppliers. Sure I read a thread on here recently about B6s and a link to a German company, if I can find it.

Thanks Tony. Strange as according to the Bilstein website, B4 shock absorbers are for cars with sports suspension whilst B6 are for cars without sports suspension! I would have thought a 996 C4S has sports suspension!

+1 for refurb as an option but there are German distributors who offer faster delivery and delivered € prices after German VAT which are a lot cheaper than UK supply.

I was not in a hurry as I was accumulating parts ahead of a suspension upgrade but I bought £2100 UK list new damptronics for £1770 after negotiating price v German supply with a UK distributor.

Bilstein can refurb them for around £100 each Give them a call.
thanks. Sadly this is my daily driver so cant see how that would work.

Call Center Gravity. They may have refurbed dampers for your car lying around which they will fit the same day, while taking your old dampers in exchange, and do a 1st class geo as well.
