Bilstein upgrade costs?

Would be interested to know what budget I should assume for an upgrade of my existing Munroes to Bilsteins - all in cost. Seems this is almost a default upgrade path for the 993s from various forum threads. Don't believe mine need doing but have an annual service coming up in a week and just wanted to be prepared in case I get THAT call...

Also seems HD Bilsteins is what I should ask for - is this specific enough or are there choices/specs beyond this I would need decide.

Have a C2S on 18" turbo twist hollows, Bridgestone Potenza's, normal road use.

Hi,

Have a look on www.carnewal.com for an up to date price on the dampers. Fitting, and subsequent wheel alignment can be anyware from £500 to £1000.

I would think it unlikely that a service or inspection will show up worn dampers unless they are actually leaking. They tend to deteriorate over a period of time and gradually provide less and less body control until you decide to do something about it.

Have to agree with PP, the labour costs can vary dramaticly, just as a guide I changed to Bilsteins with M030 springs and rollbars, the parts from Gert plus the strip and rebuild with full alignment cost me £1700.

Go for PSS9s if you want the option of adjustability in future. Cost £1600 + 6-7 hours labour incl. setup (my indie charges £49 +VAT, which is VERY good).
