Bilstien Suspension help

angry

New member
Ive recently had H+R Springs with Bilstien hd dampers and rs anti roll bars fitted.
The car now handles fantastic and is actually smoother on the road.
The only problem is there is a loud clatter mostly on the rebound of a bump/bumps from the front end, which is quite annoying and doesnt seem to be settling down as sujested by the fitters. It seems to be coming from the top of the strut(but i may be wrong)and yes the fitters have been over everything and checked it.
Any ideas would be appreciated??????

Interesting, after having the same kit installed I initially had the same as you on the offside rear, but it did settle and go away.

With the M030, the springs are shorter than the shocks (on full droop) so you need to make sure they seat properly when the shocks are weighted. Some people have cable tied them to the 'cup' at the top - dont know if the same applies to the H&Rs but its worth a look...

Funny but last night i just nipped up the top nuts on the shock holding the allen key head in place and tightening the nut,it was already very tight but i managed to get a milimetre more thread showing, now i havent driven the car myself but my wife used it today and said the noise had gone.I will try it tommorrow and see????
