Bit of Condensation under oil cap

Big Eric

After (stupidly!) reading a buyers guide on the Boxster I decided to check under the oil cap for mayo. There was no trace of Mayo but there was some condensation on the inside of the cap. I have searched the forums and it appears that short journeys and cold weather can cause this instead of the worst case of a cracked head gasket.

These were not pertaining to the Boxster though so I was wondering what the consensus was? Will this go away in warmer weather?

Thanks guys.

A little condensation will always turn up at there because of the rather remote location of the filler and the length of tubing involved. Because the filler end is located in a cooler area, you'd almost always see a little condensation trapped at the top. As long as it doesnt turn into that mayo sludge then all is fine.

A nice long drive to build up sufficient heat would clear this up.
